About the Department

The Psychology Department of CITY College, University of York Europe Campus has excellent reputation due to the high quality of teaching and research. Our academic staff is strongly committed to excellence in research and in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Teaching is informed by the latest scientific research and cultivates development of critical thinking, self-development, and academic and professional ethos. The department’s academic staff, all hold a PhD degree, have intensive research activity and significant professional experience.

Dedicated to serving the community through its teaching and research, the department extends its activities with two innovative community services:
The Community Counselling Centre which is open to the public and provides counselling services under the supervision of the department’s experts and E-help, an online service through which the Psychology Department offers free psychological support through the Internet. 

The Psychology Department of CITY College is Organisational Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
