Aris is a Professor in Supply Chain Design & Logistics Systems, at Cranfield University and a Visiting Professor at the University of Lille 2, in France. He also runs his own consultancy company Supply Chain Gnosis Ltd specializing on the assessment and development of the present— and especially the future— logistics and supply chain capabilities; how to design the supply chain based on strategic and logistical assessments. He has published extensively in field and has been involved in several research (FP6, FP7, Horizon 2020, ERDF) projects particularly in manufacturing, agri-food, healthcare and humanitarian sectors and as an external evaluator for the French National Research Agency (ANR) and for the prestigious Canada Excellence Research Chairs (Government of Canada). He recently received funding (£1m.) from the European Regional Development Fund to help companies in The Marches, GCGP and D2N2 in the food and other manufacturing sectors to assess and rebuild the capabilities of their supply chains, delivering the maximum UK content, and to grow. In 2019 he was appointed Royal Society Short Industry Fellow to collaborate with Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE) a world-class technical innovation, engineering and specialist low volume manufacturing services provider in developing group’s supply chain strategy and the changes required to futureproof the business. Other industrial research collaborators include Jaguar Land Rover, Saietta Group, MCT Reman, Microcab, Goodfloo, Marks & Spencer, AB Vassilopoulos, and many SMEs. He is a regular speaker in seminars and workshops for a variety of organizations and institutions throughout the Europe and the UK.
