What our students say about us

Ms Vaso Salvari “I decided to study Cognitive Neuropsychology, in order to learn how the brain functions and how it affects human behaviour. Through the courses of Cognitive Neuropsychology and the opportunities offered to students to engage in research studies - in my case with the use of electroencephalography - and thanks to the support received from the academic staff, I have gained valuable knowledge and developed research, academic and transferable skills that helped me proceed with doctoral studies abroad in the field of Neuroscience.”

Vaso Salvari
MSc in Cognitive Neuropsychology
BSc (Hons) in Psychology

Ms Eftychia Karavaiou“From the beginning of my undergraduate studies in Psychology, I was fascinated by courses that regarded brain anatomy and specifically, human memory processes. So Idecided to continue for a Master’s degree in Clinical Neuropsychology, aiming for training in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of patients with neurological disorders and brain damage. I feel very lucky because, as a trainee Neuropsychologist, I had the privilege to assess epileptic or patients who suffer from narcolepsy and different types of dementia in two prestigious clinical settings in Athens, Greece, the Attikon Hospital and the Outpatient Centre of Alzheimer Association and Related Disorders. In the context of this supervised Practicum, I feel that I have improved not only my knowledge and technical skills, but also my critical thinking and flexibility in acting independently and making appropriate decisions as a specialised Clinical Neuropsychologist.”

Eftychia Karavaiou
MA in Clinical Neuropsycholgy
BSc in Psychology

Ms Nikoletta Samara“The International Faculty, CITY College, offers a degree from University of Sheffield, a top European university, in Greece and for me this was the perfect combination. During my first semester at the BSc in Psychology programme I realised that there was a lot to experience in the way! The collaboration between students and academic staff is amazing, the communication among students is something really enjoyable and the knowledge that we, students, get at the International Faculty is exactly the same as we could have been getting if we were in Sheffield.”

Nikoletta Samara, Greece

Dr Dina Gojkovic“I very much appreciated the student-centered academic atmosphere that I found at the University of Sheffield International Faculty. However, above all I appreciated being taught by knowledgeable, patient and very focused lecturers. It was not until I started my PhD that I really realised the solid knowledge base that I has acquired at the International Faculty. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for CITY College.”

Dr Dina Gojkovic, Serbia
Research Fellow in Criminal Justice
University of Southampton, UK

Mr George Pavlidis “During my studies I enjoyed great communication support from highly competent and passionate lecturers in their field of expertise who helped me identify and cultivate my skills. It was a demanding programme, but any student who puts in the required effort enjoys invaluable guidance and mentoring. My journey in academia has not come to an end yet. I am currently working on my PhD the International Faculty’s research centre, which gives me the opportunity to appreciate the breadth and the depth of psychology studies, a real heritage of knowledge and critical thinking.”

George Pavlidis, Greece
PhD Candidate in Gerontology at SEERC

Mr James Hayden “Over the last decade or so I yearned for the opportune time and the right institution where I could further my education. The University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College presented me with the best opportunities to fulfill aspirations I had had for a long time. The overall warm reception of the faculty played its role on my decision to attend the MSc in Counselling Psychology. The energetic style of lectures and the open door policy made it a pleasure to attend classes and an honor to learn from great teachers. Demanding case studies intrigued my mind and required thorough research and undivided devotion. Further to the faculty’s excellence, studying in the city of Thessaloniki is unique and a once in a lifetime experience that provides you with great, lasting memories. My studies broadened my opportunities to get a challenging job in a field that I have truly held dear to my heart, that of counseling youth. I am a Youth Counselor employed by the government of the United States of America (Department of Defense).”
