Poster Session for the Research Project by final year Psychology students

Final year students of CITY College’s Psychology Department had the opportunity to present their proposals of their Research Project at the Poster Session that successfully took place on Friday, 17^th January 2019 at our main campus in Thessaloniki.

Led by Dr Aristea Ladas, the poster session aimed at providing students with the opportunity to present their research proposals and posters and receive feedback on their planned study from Psychology Department academic staff, in addition to that received by their supervisors.

The event commenced with a short welcome by Dr Aristea Ladas, Researcher and Lecturer at our Psychology Department, who discussed the scope of the event and encouraged students’ efforts in research. Her address was followed by Psychology graduates who shared their research their project experience and provided current students with valuable insights. A live Skype session took place right after with Mr. Fanis Tselikas, BSc (Hons) in Psychology and MSc in Counselling Psychology graduate currently undertaking at PG Certificate in Professional Practice in Counselling and working as High School Counsellor at The "Aristotle School" in Serres, who spoke about experiences while he was working on the research Project and was happy to share tips and hints with our students. Also, our Psychology graduate (BSc Hons in Psychology and MSc in Cognitive Neuropsychology), Ms Vassiliki Salvari, who is now in PhD candidate at the Institute for Biomagnetism and Biosignalanalysis of the University of Münster, Germany, participated in the event by sending valuable information about research in a short interview that was read out by Dr Ladas to the students.

The welcome session was followed by the presentation of student posters. Students had the opportunity to present their posters to the academic staff of the Psychology Department, discuss their ideas and get valuable feedback on how to proceed with their research work.

The event concluded with the announcement of the three winners who received an Award Certificate:

3. Nikoleta Bekiaropoulou / Most Innovative Research
