The MSc in Finance and Risk Management programme has been designed for technically-minded candidates who want a deep, analytical study of risk management and finance and who intend to pursue a quantitative career in the financial services sector. The programme will develop a solid theoretical foundation and practical skills in finance and risk management as well as analytical skills in relation to financial institutions and markets, portfolio management, instruments, and other critical areas.

Dr Nikos Tsorakidis"Following the financial crisis there is a growing demand for professionals who are skilled in financial risk management. Our MSc in Finance and Risk Management is designed to provide you with comprehensive knowledge of the latest challenges in financial markets and the necessary quantitative skills to measure and manage risk."

Dr Nikos Tsorakidis
Head of Business Administration & Economics Department

The MSc in Business Analytics and Decision Sciences programme will provide a unique exposure to current business opportunities, challenges and developments in the area of Business Analytics, Big Data Management and Decision Sciences. The programme will equip students with the highly sought analytics skills and prepare them to solve challenging and complex business problems and make optimised decisions in the big data driven environment. After successful completion of the taught part of the programme, students are given the opportunity for an industry placement, subject to availability and specific criteria set by the Business Administration & Economics Department.

"This programme responds to the shortage of analysts capable of understanding data (e.g patterns and relationships) to identify opportunities and to offer valuable information to support senior management decision making. Sectors such as airlines, logistics, energy, marketing, banking, healthcare, insurance, handle big data and are revisiting their processes and practices to optimize operations and profitability. Therefore, graduates with the skills necessary to interpret data and support decisions will be well placed in the job market." said Dr Tsorakidis.
