The opening event of the ‘Psychology for All’ for spring semester presented a very interesting and popular topic on that touched upon the syndrome professional burn out.
With her presentation entitled ‘The syndrome of occupational exhaustion (Burn out) and its consequences in my life’, the speaker, Ms Melina Makridou, Health Psychology Counselor and Gestalt Psychotherapist, outlined the symptoms of the syndrome and highlighted the extent it has reached today.
Emotional and physical exhaustion, indifferent mood, emotions of low satisfaction are only some of the symptoms. During the event Ms Makridou stressed how important it is for people who suffer from this symptom to realised that they are not alone and seek for help and support to find the meaning of life again.
The event was well-attended and maintained the audience engaged throughout the presentation.
