The Psychology Department announces collaboration with the Greek Multiple Sclerosis Society

The Psychology Department of the International Faculty CITY College is happy to announce the beginning of the collaboration with the Greek Multiple Sclerosis Society for further research and clinical work.

Dr. Anna Emmanouel, Lecturer at the Psychology Department and her supervisees, bachelor 3-level students, Ms Nena Partheneiadou and Eftychia Tzatzou had the great pleasure to meet Professor Emeritus of Neurology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, ex Director of the First Neurological Clinic, AHEPA University General Hospital and President of the Greek Multiple Sclerosis Society, Anastasios Orologas. The meeting was arranged within the context of two projects that aim at studying quality of life of people with Multiple Sclerosis and its relation with their objective neuropsychological performance, exploring further the impact and predictive value of specific objective cognitive factors on several aspects of quality of life people with Multiple Sclerosis. The meeting took place at the office of the Greek Multiple Sclerosis Society, Charalabidi 3, Kalamaria, Thessaloniki where many activities and health care services are provided to the members of the society.

As Dr. Emmanouel mentioned ‘Prof. Orologas has dedicated 40 entire years of his life to clinical, voluntary and research work on Multiple Sclerosis and as the President of the Greek Multiple Sclerosis Society, has invaluably contributed to the provision of any type of service to these patients and their families.  He is an activist, internationally recognized scientist that conducts national and international campaigns to let people know about Multiple Sclerosis, avoid stigmatism and deal with their several (neurological, sensory, motor, cognitive) problems. It is our great pleasure and honour to start a fruitful collaboration with Prof. Orologas and the members of the Greek Multiple Sclerosis Society that are highly motivated and involved in several actions organizing national and international symposia and conferences on Multiple Sclerosis”

Our students had the great opportunity to meet also members of the Greek Multiple Sclerosis Society, get informed about their actions and attend to a workshop on pregnancy and Multiple Sclerosis presented by Prof. Orologa’s close collaborator, Dr. Konstantinos Notas, Neurologist.
