Mr Liassides delivers Business Seminars in Ukraine

Mr. Chris Liassides, Senior Lecturer at the Business Administration and Economics Department of the University of Sheffield International Faculty CITY College, delivered successfully two insightful seminars in Ukraine, in collaboration with the European Business Association (EBA).

The first seminar took place 13th June in Kyiv. Mr. Liassides presented the topic ‘Message Appeals in Advertising’ and attempted to shed light on the use of message appeals in communications and advertising. Participants were exposed to various message appeals, from celebrity endorsement and fear to humor and sex, and examined their significance and suitability for the promotion of products and services. Participants gained a better understanding of handling communications and campaigns for maximum effectiveness.

The next day, on 14th of June, Mr Liassides went on to deliver another business seminar, this time in Lviv, entitled ‘Gamification - The contemporary way to engage employees and customers’. Mr Liassides talked about the technique of gamification - a modern tool in engaging employees and customers - presented the principles of gamification and discussed and how excitement can develop, through the use of the 10 game mechanics, the six-step method that can be employed, and the psychology behind such an effort.  In his presentation he included success stories involving gamification from a number of industries, ranging from the hotel and hospitality industry to retailing.

Both events were organised in collaboration with the International Faculty’s educational partner in Kyiv, EBA, and received positive feedback from participants.
