New Masters programme in Advanced Software Engineering with specialisation in Data Analytics

The Computer Science Department of the University of Sheffield International Faculty CITY College is happy to announce the launch of a new programme recently added in its portfolio, the MSc in Advanced Software Engineering (Data Analytics). This new specialisation is offered in response to the strong demand for expert knowledge in this field of Software Engineering.

Due to the vast amount of business data being collected by organisations today, there is an increasing demand for specialists in data analytics, business intelligence and big data. Analysis of data can identify trends, patterns, and customer behaviour and reveal important information in order to support intelligent decision making and provide a competitive advantage in the modern globalised market. Big data introduces new challenges in the field of data analysis. 

This postgraduate course offers students advanced knowledge in software engineering and data analytics. Using a variety of teaching and assessment methods, it aims to produce students with the skills that are necessary to work as respected professionals in an industrial environment.

The new programme is addressed to candidates who hold an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

The programme will be taught in English and will be offered both in full-time and part-time mode, starting the academic in October 2018. Classes will be taking place on weekdays during afternoon hours.
