Mr. George Pavlidis

Congratulations to Mr. George Pavlidis, PhD Candidate at our research centre, the South East European Research Centre (SEERC), for succeeding to receive for a second consecutive year the Santander Research Mobility Award from the University of Sheffield. The award amounts to £1,100.00 funding to be invested in a meta analysis study on aging. Mr Pavlidis said: “A lot of work was done last year. With the help of this grand I was introduced to the principles of meta analysis and I had a hands on experience on this technique. This year I hope that some tangible results will be available on which assessment tools are more suitable to test healthy seniors”

The Santander Research Mobility Award is an up to 1200 pounds grand that encourages PhD students to form research collaboration with institutions that belong to the Santander University Network, like The University of Sheffield. University of Sheffield staff and research students who wish to carry out collaborative research with colleagues from a Santander Universities partner may apply for the award.

Mr. Pavlidis graduated from the BSc (Hons) in Psychology programme and he also received an MPhil in Sociological Studies. Currently he is a part time lecturer at our Faculty and a PhD Candidate on Gerontology at our research centre, SEERC.
