Dr Vicky Papachristou is an Assistant Professor at the Humanities Department of CITY College, University of York Europe Campus.

She holds a BA in English Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MA in Phonetics from University College London (UK) and a PhD in Linguistics (Applied Phonetics) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

She has been teaching courses in Phonetics and Phonology, Second/foreign Language Acquisition and Language Teaching Methodology both at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. She has been conducting and supervising research in the fields of Phonetics, pronunciation teaching, ELT and teachers’ identity. She has presented and participated in a series of events (conferences, symposia, seminars) in Europe. She has also acted as a peer reviewer for academic journals in the field of Linguistics. She is currently the Vice Chair of TESOL Macedonia-Thrace, Northern Greece.

- Online assessment in English Language Teaching, in collaboration with the National Research N.P. Ogarev State University, Russia.

- January 2020 - January 2023: Researcher for the Erasmus+ EAC/A03/2018 project called “ALLVET: HE and VET alliance establishment according to Bologna Principals implementation via VET teachers’ capacity building”. http://allvet-erasmus.com/uk/
