No matter where you are based you can still access the wide range of resources and services that the Library provides. We are here to help you succeed in your coursework and research.

Off-campus students are entitled to library services and resources equivalent to those offered on campus.

Support for off-campus students

What is the off-campus support service?

As a CITY College, University of York Europe Campus student, you have full-text access to Library e-resources, you can request interlibrary loans, and you can find help and support from all library staff. To access resources and services you need your:

 

IT Account (CITY College)

You need your CITY College computer account to access IT Services.

Your personal username & password will be given to you during the Induction Week and will allow you to log in to all services including Google Classroom (Module materials), email & other applications.

Your username cannot be changed.

If you forget or wish to change your password you should contact the Computing Support Staff by email: support@york.citycollege.eu

 

University of York Library Account

All new students receive an email from the University of York with the title “University of York - personal account setup” as part of their registration process. This email will contain a username and password along with instructions on how to set up the account to access University of York library resources.

 

Online Resources

Library Website

The Library website includes detailed information about library collections and resources, services and facilities. It is the main ACCESS POINT to all library related information.

 

Online Library Catalogue

OpenABEKT contains records of material held by the library, such as books, periodicals, dissertations and audio-visual material. Use the simple or advanced option to narrow your search on specific titles or authors, or conduct a broader subject search.

 

Fulltext Resources

Visit the Access to e-resources webpage to find help with resources and guidance on what to do in case items are not available in fulltext while searching. Our resources include a variety of full-text journals, conference proceedings, newspapers, statistics, standards, and other reference resources, and all from the convenience of your own device.

 

YorSearch (York Library Search Tool)

Log in as a University Member and search the University of York Library catalogue.
YorSearch allows students to:

  • Locate library material such as articles and book chapters.
  • Link to a variety of online resources, including databases and ebook collections.

 

Subject Guides

The Subject Guide brings together all the additional resources & services available to CITY College, University of York Europe Campus students via the University of York Library, as well as our Skills Guides and Referencing Styles Guides and Academic Writing guides to help you become a good academic writer, a skill necessary for your coursework and dissertation.

 

Requesting Materials

Off-campus students can request material through Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services by sending an email to library@york.citycollege.eu.

These services allow students to btain material such as articles, book chapters, conference proceedings and reports that are not part of the library collection, via consortia suppliers.

 

Scan and Send

Off-campus students are able to use the Scan and Send Service to request chapters of books or articles or postal delivery of items. This service is free for all enrolled students.
