SEERC Organized the 3rd Transnational Training on Energy Efficient Operations

During 5th-9th March 2018, SEERC in cooperation with the Business and Administration Department of the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College has organized the 3rd Transnational Training on Energy Efficient Operations under the framework of the TrainERGY project (EU funded). A number of 40 mixed trainees from industry and academia coming from UK, Italy, Poland and Greece have attended an intensive training on energy efficient operations and have utilized innovative technologies (www.scenat.com) in order to assess the economic, environmental and social impact of industry-based case studies.

SEERC in cooperation with the Business and Administration Department of the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College has organized the 3rd Transnational Training on Energy Efficient Operations

This event comes under the context of the SEERC-run TrainERGY project (www.trainergy-project.eu). TrainERGY (Training for Energy Efficient Operations) aims to develop an innovative, evidence-based transnational framework that will markedly improve the knowledge and skills of academic institutions to produce more marked oriented energy efficient operations curricula, reducing the barriers in this field. The project consortium comprises key academics, SMEs, and industrial association partners from different sectors who co-created the energy efficient operations curriculum and who piloted it through an open innovation and co-creation virtual learning environment (VLE). The training week was organizing by a mixed committee from SEERC and from the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College: Ms Elina Ketikidi (PhD Candidate), Ms Foteini Koukouviti (MSc student), Mr Stefanos Panagiotidis (MSc student) and Dr Adrian Solomon (Project Manager).

Durign the event, cutting-edge presentations from key experts in this field were delivered. To this end, the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College was represented by Dr Ioannis Mallidis who delivered a presentation on "Technologies for Reducing the Consumption of Raw Materials" which receive a strong audience impact and recognition. Other presentations were delivered by Prof Giuseppe Bruno (University of Naples Federico II, Italy) and by Dr Beata Gotwald-Feja from the University of Lodz (Poland).

The next event organized in the context of the TrainERGY project consists of a CSR conference to take place in Lodz, Poland during 14-15 June 2018 (www.csrtrends.eu) where the local team  (Ms Elina Ketikidi, Ms Foteini Koukouviti, Mr Stefanos Panagiotidis and Dr Adrian Solomon) will attend and deliver talks and presentation summarising the key outputs of the project.
