Chick-Fil-A returns to the International Faculty for a Successful Business Seminar on Leadership

The Chik-Fil-A team revisited the International Faculty CITY College to deliver another successful business seminar under the title “A pathway to successful leadership: The SERVE leadership Model, CSR & Sustainability aspects”. The event was hosted at the International Faculty’s main campus in Thessaloniki, 6 November 2017.

Chick-Fil-A return to the International Faculty CITY College for a Successful Business Seminar on Leadership

The five speakers, some of them representing the company and some being restaurant owners, spoke on “The Secret of Great Leaders” and presented Chick-Fil-A SERVE model. More specifically as identified by the its acronym, the speakers shared their views on how great leaders Sea and shape the future, Engage and develop others, Reinvent continuously, Value results and relationships and Embody the values. There was also thorough presentation of their business strategy through videos and interactive Q&As. The company’s competitive advantage is their organisational culture that holds on to their “Our Pleasure” approach. The speakers also focused on their CSR practices with specific examples on local ownerships and support of local communities, donations to different organizations, recycling and the gradual transformation of their products to organic ones. Before closing the event, the speakers invited the students (2nd level business students attending the event in the frame of ‘Sustainable Development’ unit) to ask their questions and those who did were also rewarded with company gifts.

It is the seventh time for the International Faculty to host the Chick Fil A leadership seminar.

The event was organised by the Business Administration and Economics Department (BAED) and the Career, Enterprise and Employability Centre of the International Faculty and is in line with our mission to bring academia closer to the industry.
