One of the biggest events in entrepreneurship in Europe

CITY College, International Faculty of the University of Sheffield was proud to host one of the biggest events in entrepreneurship in Europe, the Startup Europe Week Thessaloniki 2017.

The event took place successfully at the Auditorium of our main campus in Thessaloniki on Friday, 10 February 2017.  Mr Vassilis Tsoulis, our Director of Career, Employabilty and Enterprise Centre joined the event's opening with a welcome speech. Also, Prof. Panayotis Ketikidis, Vice-Principal of the International Faculty, CITY College, held a presentation on 'HEBAN -The Angels Community in Greece” while Dr. Dimitrios Nikolaidis, Head of the Business Administration and Economics Department and the Marketing Club spoke at the event on the topic “Design a product that customers want”.

The event featured 3 panels, Q&A sessions and networking drinks. The topics of the event mainly focused on the stage before starting a start-up: the strategy, the preparation, the decision as well as the best practices and the financial tools available from local and European, public and private resources.

Startup Europe Week (SEW), was held for the first time in 2016 simultaneously in different cities in the EU under the auspices of the European Commission and the Startup Europe Network. This year, SEW2017 (6-10/2/2017) exceeded 280 events across EU to hundreds of cities in Europe!
