Ms Felicia Siavalas
Ms Felicia Siavalas

Ms Felicia Siavalas succeeded in receiving research funding by the Sheffield Undergraduate Research Experience scheme (SURE) for the research proposal she submitted. Ms Siavalas is an undergraduate business student and she will be working under the supervision of Dr Alexandra Prodromidou and Ms Agnes Brunet on a research project titled: From an economic crisis despaired ‘transit country’ for refugees to a socially-humanitarian divided nation: Analysing Greece’s social cohesion structure towards coping with its recently declared status of a ‘receiving country’.

The topical research will be looking at how is the humanitarian aid strategy structured in Greece (i.e. identify the balance between state and societal contribution) and how does the recent status change of Greece (from transit country to receiving country) impact on society’s involvement in the humanitarian aid process. The results of the research will be disseminated after the completion of the six week project over the summer.

For any additional information on the project, news and updates please contact Dr Alexandra Prodromidou here or Ms Agnes Brunet here.
