Masters students visit the HYATT REGENCY THESSALONIKI

On 12 April the Strategic Hotel Management class of the MSc Management (Hotel and Tourism) visited the Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki hotel. The purpose of the visit was to explore the way hotel operations are managed in a leading world-class property. In order to put students into context, the visit began with a tour of the stunning premises under the guidance of Ms. Matina Nikita, Personnel Supervisor and a Sheffield University International Faculty, CITY College alumna herself. The beautiful weather allowed students to take a picture in front of the waterfalls, a signature spot of the Hyatt gardens!

The walk through the premises ended in the training room, where Ms. Nikita presented a company overview to the students. Next, Mr. Konstantinos Pantis, Food and Beverage Manager, illustrated hotel operations management in practice by drawing from his rich experience in the field. The deep insights shared during this company visit allowed students to understand how departments, by successfully overcoming operational challenges, contribute to the hotel’s competitive advantage.
