Successful talk by Dr Kalyva on interpersonal techniques and social skills

Dr Efrosini Kalyva held a successful talk on ‘Interpersonal Techniques and Social Skills Training’ which took place in the frame of ‘Psychology for all’ series, on 6 April 2016 at our main campus in Thessaloniki. The event drew a full house and shed light on the importance of good management of interpersonal and social skills.

Dr Kalyva, Reader at our Psychology Department, talked about the difficulties that most people have due to poor communication in their personal and social relationships. The speaker elaborated on those difficulties based on the theory of the mind and on empathy. Throughout her presentation Dr Kalyva introduced techniques that people can use to face problems in interpersonal and social skills.

 “Interpersonal skills are the life skills we use every day to communicate and interact with other people, both individually and in groups.  People who have worked on developing strong interpersonal skills are usually more successful in both their professional and personal lives.” she commented.

The audience found Dr Kalyva’s presentation particularly useful and informative.
