A group of international students join the IF through the Erasmus Mundus EU programme

The University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College, welcomed a group of international students who are spending the current academic year attending classes at the International Faculty’s main campus in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Armen NersisyanThe students came through the Erasmus Mundus EU programme, in cooperation with the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (ATEI), from various countries across South East and Eastern Europe including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Belarus, Georgia and Ukraine. The majority of the students joined the bachelors and masters programmes offered by the Faculty’s Business Administration and Economics Department.

Armen Nersisyan, undergraduate student from Armenian says: “It’s already been five months since I came to Thessaloniki to study at the University of Sheffield International Faculty through the Erasmus Mundus programme and I really enjoy the whole experience. Thessaloniki is a really beautiful and vivid city full of ancient monuments and things to do. We have great lecturers who do their best for us inside and outside the classroom. The Student Union is very active and organised many interesting student events. I also enjoy the time I spend at the Library that is fully equipped and helps me while studying. I am really happy with my choice to study at the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College. I really love it here!”

Armine PetrosyanAnother student, Armine Petrosyan, also comments: “Studying at the University of Sheffield International Faculty in Thessaloniki gives me the opportunity to get a taste of the Greek ancient culture and to learn one more language. The International Faculty is a place where I can investigate my chosen field thoroughly, continuously and deeply and what is important gain experience. Moreover, I enjoy meeting new people, understanding new ways of thinking and sharing traditions.”

Aiming at further enhancing its international outlook, the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College, embraces opportunities such as the one presented by the Erasmus Mundus programme, in order to welcome more students from different countries and cultures to join its diverse student community.

Erasmus Mundus is a cooperation and mobility programme in the field of higher education that aims to enhance the quality of European higher education and to promote international cooperation and understanding between the European Union and Third-Countries.
