SEERC part of European Funding Project for the sustainability and competitiveness of Small and Medium sized Enterprises

It was successfully established the new research programme PrESS (Promoting Environmentally Sustainable SMEs) which is funded by the Lifelong Learning Program Erasmus 2013 and aims to support Small and Medium sized enterprises in order to be sustainable and competitive in the international market. In the frames of the programme a platform will be developed which will allow SME to keep record, analyze and manage with a simplistic way their environmental impact and the relevant costs.

In Greece the collaborative project is being handled by SEERC (South-East European Research Centre). The team is comprised by:  Prof. Panagiotis Ketikidis, Dr Lambros Lazouras and Mr Adrian Solomon. The kick-start Press meeting was held at the University of Sheffield in UK on January 6th to 9th, 2014.

The consortium comprises four academic members, the South East European Research Centre (SEERC – Greece) partnering with the North Greece Association of Computer Enterprises, the University of Sheffield (UK), the University of Lodz (Poland), the University of Naples “Federico II” (Italy) and, working in partnership with four private sector trade organisations from their respective regions. The University of Sheffield’s partner is Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). The collaborative project’s objective is to help SMEs improve their environmental footprint and drive commercial benefits in this internationally competitive world.
