8th Annual Learning and Teaching Conference at The University of Sheffield

The 8^th Learning & Teaching Conference was held in Sheffield in Tuesday 7 January 2014. The theme was "Digital Possibilities: Inspiring Learning Through Technology" and 42 presentations/events took place. There were more than 80 proposals submitted. The University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College was yet another time present in this significant event. This year there were 4 contributions:

• Dr Ana Cruz, Engaging students through video projects
• Mr Thanos Hatziapostolou, Adopting Facebook as a Learning Management System
• Dr Leslie Szamosi, The Living Case Study Approach to Executive Teaching: A Weekend of Power Learning Supported By E-Resources
• Prof. Petros Kefalas & Ms Anna Sotiriadou,The e-nternational Faculty e-xperiences

All presentations were well received by the audience which exceeded 400 staff and students. CITY College showed that it is well on board in adopting and using Learning Technologies.

The plenary session on MOOCs and iTUNES U was broadcasted live for colleagues in Thessaloniki in the auditorium. It was the first time we attempted this and went on without major problems thanks to colleagues at CiCS and IT Support at Sofou.

Dr. Leslie Szamosi presented live though webex, something that demonstrated the International Faculty capacity to perform such activities in practice and of course went along the conference theme.

Congratulations to our lecturers whose presentations had great impact to those attended and acted as means to disseminate our good practice.
