Joint European Masters programme in Search and Social Media Marketing (JEMSS)

The University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College is working in a leading international partnership to develop and offer students across Europe a joint masters programme in Search and Social Media Marketing (JEMMS).

Joint European Masters programme in Search and Social Media Marketing (JEMSS)

JEMMS started on the 1st of October 2013 and is due to be completed in 2016. The project is founded by the European Union as part of the Erasmus Lifelong Learning programme and is aligned with the European agenda 2020 which recognises the need for digital literacy skills. JEMMS will complement the portfolio of leading Master courses offered by the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College.

By collaborating with academia, industry and students JEMMS will address four key challenges (i) the lack of Search and Social Media Marketing and digitally skilled employees, (ii) the low employability opportunities for graduates, (iii) Search and Social Media Marketing as catalysts to help grow the European economy and (iv) problems with traditional university apprenticeship models. JEMSS will draw together organisations, universities and students through a new apprenticeship model, with benefit for all parties.

The international consortium include CITY College (Greece), The University of Salford (UK), Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), University of Lodz (Poland), University of National and World Economy (UNWE) (Bulgaria), expert digital marketing recruitment agency - Candidate Ltd (UK) and a key international advertising agency - ilyan.com . CITY College is leading the project's quality assurance and will be responsible for producing the JEMSS core textbook on Search and Social Media Marketing.
